Valentino Girls

Last night, Valentino showed its A/W 2011 collection in Paris, and the front row was, as always, filled to the brim of stylish celebrities. I have had my eye on the pale yellow leather dress that Alexa Chung wore ever since I saw Valentino's Pre-Fall 2011 collection. That shade of yellow is one of my favourite colours. It is such an unusual colour for a dress, and I love the innocent sexiness it gives together with the flirty details, such as the deep neckline, the small frills on the top half and the short length of the skirt.

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld showed up in this leopard printed leather trench, also from Valentino Pre-Fall 2011. I have always thought that Julia looks incredible in animal print. She oozes of femme fatale, and has the perfect confidence to pull it off. C'est magnifique!

Valentino Spring 2011: Paris Fashion Week

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Picciolione creations for Valentino Spring 2011 collection that was presented during Paris Fashion Week was very feminine. Indeed, it's very Valentino!

Valentino + Alexa

The Valentino Spring/Summer 2011 collection also showed today attracting celebrities like Olivia Palermo and Alexa Chung. And I strongly believe that especially Alexa was very delighted at what she saw. From the very first photo of the collection over at style.com, I couldn't help but think that Valentino designers Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri have created their designs with exactly Alexa in mind. Each outfit that came down the runway could have easily come from her wardrobe. So here's guessing that Alexa will be seen in a lot of Valentino in the near future (and here's hoping that she will wear the long gorgeous rich red dress to some event!).

Animal prints done right look stylish and chic. Think a cute printed dress, a leopard shoe, or a statement handbag. Just limit your look to one animal at a time, consider exactly how much of a zebra print will actually look good stretched across your legs (beware animal printed pants or long boots), and always pair your printed piece with another tailored solid. 2010 MET Costume Institute Gala Red Carpet

The theme of 2010 Costume Institute Gala or Met Gala is “American Woman: Fashioning A National Identity”. Therefore, I was not surprised when I saw the red carpet photos of celebrities in shades of red, white and blue. The Metropolitan Museum of Art was filled with stars in big gowns, ruffles and bling.
